The National Association of Community Health Workers (NACHW) is proud to announce the appointment of Katherine Martinez as Interim Director, effective immediately. Katherine brings a dynamic blend of strategic leadership, policy advocacy, and community engagement to the role, building on her former position as Strategic Initiatives Manager at NACHW.
With a strong background in community organizing and legislative strategy, Katherine has dedicated her career to advancing equity and opportunity in underserved communities.
Prior to joining NACHW, she served as Director of Economic Development for the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations, where she championed initiatives aimed at inclusive economic growth and affordable housing.
Katherine’s experience spans both nonprofit and private sectors, giving her a unique perspective that connects policy with practice. A lifelong New England resident, her strong local ties and national vision will be critical as NACHW continues its work to elevate the voice and visibility of community health workers nationwide.
“I’m honored to step into this role and continue working alongside our dedicated team and partners to support community health workers across the country,” said Martinez. “Together, we will build on our momentum and drive forward the vital work of equity and health justice.”
NACHW is confident that under Katherine’s interim leadership, the organization will continue to thrive while maintaining its steadfast commitment to the community health workforce. Katherine will be holding the interim role until the NACHW board hires a new permanent executive director.
