
The National Association of Community Health Workers is now accepting applications for its Board of Directors. We are seeking committed CHW and Ally leaders who reflect the strength, diversity, and vision of the CHW movement and who can help guide NACHW’s strategic direction during a critical period in the organization and field.
We especially encourage applications from individuals with experience in institutional fundraising, nonprofit legal affairs, strategic planning leadership, Tribal or Community Health Representative (CHR) leadership, and national-level CHW work, as well as those who live in HRSA Region 2 (Puerto Rico, New Jersey, New York, Virgin Islands) the midwest, and California.
Board members will be elected by the membership at the 2026 virtual Annual Meeting (summer/early fall, date TBD) and serve three-year terms, with eligibility for up to two consecutive terms. All candidates must be NACHW members in good standing for at least one year at the time of application and are expected to attend the virtual Annual Meeting.
Applications are due April 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
Applications are completed online via Qualtrics and must include all required materials. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Application Instructions
All NACHW members who have been members for at least a year and are in good standing at the time of application are eligible for nomination.
In accordance with the NACHW bylaws, the Nominating Committee will recommend a slate of candidates for the members to elect. The election will be held during the virtual Annual Meeting in the summer or early Fall (date to be announced!). All members will vote electronically. Candidates are expected to attend the virtual annual meeting to be elected.
The application will be completed online and supporting documents must be uploaded directly in the application form or emailed per instructions below. These documents are important parts of our process for developing the slate of candidates. Only complete packets will be considered.
Board members serve for 3-year terms and individuals can run for up to 2 consecutive 3-year terms.
Application elements are listed below and can be uploaded into Qualtrics or emailed as described in the application form.
- Completed nomination form (via Qualtrics)
- Candidate statement (1500 characters or less): enter directly into the Qualtrics (or copy/paste) into the application form. (If selected for the slate, this will be shared on the NACHW website).
- Resume (pdf): upload into the Qualtrics application form or email
- Personal video
- Personal statement
- Two (2) letters of recommendation:
- One letter must come from a local, state, regional or national CHW alliance, association, coalition, network, where one exists.
- At least one (1) letter should speak to the nominee’s engagement in the CHW movement as an ally or CHW.
* All letters should contain contact information of the author.
