We know that many in our audience are eagerly awaiting an announcement of the details for our next Unity Conference. We had such a fantastic time with you all in Columbus, Ohio this year, and we cannot wait to meet you all again for the next gathering of CHWs and allies from across the nation.
Regrettably, NACHW has made the difficult decision to not hold a Unity Conference in 2026. This decision was not one that we made lightly. After listening to CHWs who could and could not attend the event in 2025, and assessing the current funding landscape for NACHW and the CHW workforce, we feel a Unity Conference that meets (and ideally exceeds) the quality of previous events is not something we can commit to. As such, we plan to hold our next Unity Conference in 2027. We hope to include the voices of CHWs across the country in the planning process for 2027.
We WILL be holding a virtual annual meeting in 2026, where members can vote for board candidates and learn about NACHW’s current efforts in advocating for CHWs. The date of this annual meeting will be determined soon. We hope to see you there!
Though we relay this news with a heavy heart, we are encouraged by what we see today. The current landscape of community health work is strong, and CHWs are as committed as ever in their efforts to advocate for their communities and fight for health equity. The trials of this past year have proven that the CHW workforce is stronger and more resilient than ever. When Unity 2027 arrives, we look forward to celebrating how far we’ve come with you.
