NACHW Committees Now Accepting Applications

NACHW’s Committees are looking for new members. Read below for further information on applying to join the Development and Policy Committees. Applications are due November 2nd.


Development Committee

The NACHW Development committee is seeking new members!

The committee meets once a month via Zoom with email communication and some action items between meetings. You do not need to have experience with development to join, you just need to be willing to participate and learn alongside fellow CHWs and allies.

If you would like to be considered for participation, please submit a brief, 1-page statement with answers to the questions below and send to [email protected].

Application questions:

  1. What is your experience in managing and monitoring organizational and financial activities? If you don’t have any, that’s okay. Just state ‘none.’
  2. In what ways do you feel you can contribute to this committee? Please share 3 things that you feel you can or would like to contribute to the purpose of the Development Committee?
  3. Are you able to commit to the time commitment as a member of this committee?
  4. Does your current role in your organization or network include development activities and oversight?
  5. Are you a thought leader?

Policy Committee

The NACHW policy committee is seeking new members! The policy committee focuses on developing internal NACHW policies related to the CHW workforce, and provides support and education regarding CHW policy outside of the association, as well.

The committee meets once a month, with email communication and some action items between meetings. You do not need to have experience with policy to join, you just need to be willing to participate and learn alongside fellow CHWs and allies.

If you would like to be considered for participation, please submit a brief, 1-page statement with answers to the questions below and send to [email protected].

  1. What are you interested in participating in the NACHW policy committee?
  2. What skills, experiences or talents would you bring to the policy committee?
  1. Are you able to commit to participating in monthly meetings for approximately 1 hour and providing input on policy for approximately 2-3 hours per month?
  1. Are you a community health worker (community health representative, promotor de salud, or other similar job title) or an ally (someone who is not personally a CHW, but works with or supports CHWs)?
  1. For allies only: Please describe your personal commitment to promoting CHWs leadership and promoting equity.
