NACHW’s Workforce Committee is excited to host a Town Hall event, where they will present on their work to develop a set of CHW informed promising practices for employers. The promising practices are intended to improve the workplace satisfaction, retention and quality of services of CHWs. The Workforce Committee compiled the promising practices, based on key topics identified by NACHW members as part of a 2024 Townhall, which include CHW training, onboarding, supervision, employer readiness, team integration, and career advancement. Participants will spend a portion of the call in facilitated discussion groups, where they will have an opportunity to discuss with other participants how they would apply specific promising practices within their organizational context as well as areas for support. The Workforce Committee intends to use the feedback received from participants to develop a more in depth toolkit that will provide employers with resources and strategies for implementing the promising practices.
