Community Health Worker Handbook

The Employee Handbook is designed to acquaint you with the policies and procedures as a Community Health Worker (CHW). This will provide you with information about working conditions and policies affecting your employment. The information contained in this Employee Handbook applies to all CHWs currently employed in Nevada.

Community Health Workers and Nevada

The Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (NDPBH) implemented the CHW Program in late 2012. Since the program started, the CHWs have been particularly effective in reaching minority populations, specifically the Latino population and socioeconomically disadvantaged populations in resource-poor neighborhoods, where they help to address health disparities in both urban and rural settings.
