Evidence Generation: Surveys and assessment tools to define and develop workforce
This report provides final results of the 2018 Community Health Worker Employer Survey for a broad audience that includes the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and CHW stakeholders throughout Michigan.1 The survey, conducted in March 2018, was designed, conducted, and analyzed by the Michigan Community Health Worker Alliance (MiCHWA), with guidance from its Evaluation Advisory Board. Results from the 2018 survey update those from similar surveys conducted in 2014 and 2016, providing a current picture of who is employing Michigan’s CHWs, the education and training of Michigan’s CHW workforce, the work CHWs are doing in Michigan, how CHWs positions are sustained, and how the CHW field has evolved.
